God's Love for Me: an Ezra 710 Bible Study

God's Love for Me, covers the following aspects of love in detail, from 1 Corinthians 13: Is patient Is kind Is not jealous Does not brag Is not arrogant Does not act unbecomingly Does not seek its own Is not provoked Does not take into account a wrong suffered Does not rejoice in unrighteous-ness Rejoices with the truth Bears Believes Hopes Endures Never fails For each of the above characteristics some background material and Scripture has been provided, including famous quotes and stories as well as a comic strip. We will then look up an Old Testament example of this characteristic. From there, we will record our thoughts on that passage, recall instances of how the Lord has displayed this action in our life, and really think about how specifically we can pattern our life after this characteristic of God's love. Finally we will have some space to prepare a little teaching on what we have just learned so we can easily pass it on to others. This emphasis on teaching others what we have learned is a hallmark of every Ezra 710 Bible study. Here we can put some thoughts down that will help us remember how to explain each aspect of love to others. This exercise of creating teaching points will force us to digest more thoroughly all the material that we have learned. Our teaching may also make for a good devotional. There is an extra credit section that follows our teaching points that is designed to stimulate our thinking even more. This Bible study can be completed within two months. For young and old alike our first priority in life must always be our relationship with God, our First Love. Whether we are renewing or establishing a lifelong commitment; we are all seeking the same close relationship with God. God will never give up on us. His relationship with us is His first priority. As the Lord perfects His love in us, He will use us to perfect His love in others as well. So, do we want to change the world for Christ? We will, as Christ changes us into His definition of love. God?s Love for Me, empowers us to imitate His love to others.
