?"The stars guided us across a spine-like ridgeline splitting the civilized Earth in two, valleys on either side of us holding city lights like pools of fireflies. We passed cell phone towers and power lines that could have convinced us of alien life hiding away up in these mountains, and we took great pride in watching green eyes of deer all night instead of the regularly scheduled television programs spewing out down below us. All we needed was headlamps, each other's company, and peanut butter."
