The Saved

When Jevin, a young historian, challenges the leaders of his village, he finds himself banished to an unknown wilderness. Soon, both he and his friend Myrell will suddenly be thrown into a life and death struggle that will pit them against the subjects of their worst nightmares and threaten to destroy everything they had ever known. "There in the forest stood a horrible, grotesque abstract of a human, towering several feet above them in height. The fluttering firelight at its feet exaggerated its terrible features, clad in grayish skin, not unlike putrid meat, with rippling tendons and muscles threatening to tear themselves free."
