Fire and Brimstone

Humour, tragedy and heartbreak are the main emotional ingredients of 'Fire and Brimstone', together with the usual mysteries and perils, which are now commonplace in works by this author. The brutal murder of a patrolling constable diverts Richard Rayner's investigative skills, away from the discovery of a number of bodies of new born babies found floating in the River Thames. To add to the famous detective's dilemma, a devastating fire destroys one of London's districts, killing thirty people and wrecking the Pratchett and Longfellow Circus in Bermondsey.
