Loving America to Death

In 2016 America was deeply divided. Republicans had been told that white folks were about to be in the minority in America and this seemed to have touched off a panicked attempt to make sure that a minority party (a party that spoke to older Americans) would be able to stay in power indefinitely. The GOP came up with ways to love America that seem more like Loving America to Death. The story of our government over the past decade would make a great plot for a thriller, but it was all real. In 2016 the divide cracked wide open when the egomaniacal showmanship of Donald J. Trump knocked all comers off the national stage and, against all odds, won the 2016 election. You can't make this stuff up.
