Cardiovascular disease remains to be a leading cause of death in most industrialized countries. Therefore, finding ways to reduce the mortality of cardiovascular complications remains an important public health goal. Due to the aging of the populations of developed countries & a common occurrence of risk factors, it is increasingly probable that a patient may have both Cancer and Cardiovascular disease. In addition, cytotoxic agents especially anthracylines used to treat cancer affect the cardiovascular and renal system. From the current survey it has been observed that most of the people are suffering from Cancer; and the cytotoxic drugs which are being used in the treatment, limit their use due to their irreversible cardiotoxicity & nephrotoxicity. Therapeutic strategies involving the cellular endogenous defense systems such as antioxidants proved to be a promising approach to reduce the Doxorubicin induced cardiotoxicity and nephrotoxicity. Hence this study incorporated the antioxidant drug combination of Nebivolol & Gemfibrozil and their protective effects has been checked against Doxorubicin induced cardiotoxicity & Nephrotoxicity through various tests.
