This is a qualitative research based on ethnographic research design. The study was carried out to explore how and what changes were experiencing by Gaine Communnity from schooling. In Nepalese society, there are social, economic and educational inequalities on the basis of caste, ethnicity, gender and class. Gaines are also suffering from social discrimination and are excluded from educational opportunities. However,it is also equally true that they have been experiencing schooling from quite a long time and has been experiencing several socio-economic changes as the outcomes of schooling. Gaines think that schooling gives employment opportunities, brings social change and establishes new social relation. On the other, they have strong feelings and experiences that present schooling system can not fulfill their aspirations. New ideas and practices in relation to class, caste and gender and opposition towards traditional social practices are some examples of cultural reproduction function of schooling experienced by Gaine pupils.
