In Sub-Saharan Africa, the activities of women entrepreneurs are steadily on the decline. This unfortunate situation is due to a lot of factors which included but not limited to lack of capital for the expansion of their businesses, poverty, God ,large family size and inaccessible markets. Evidence from the study showed that the few women who benefitted from the microfinance scheme experience improvement in their businesses which culminated in to wealth creation and assets. It became very clear that policies and regulations were very essential for effective and efficient operations of microfinance institutions and their clients. The study also affirmed the viability of the policies and regulations. Evidence from the study revealed that microfinance is a poverty reduction strategy based on the premise that the policies and regulations that bind both clients and and microfinance institutions are adhered to in their transactions.
