The Calling of Amos Puckett
Clabe Polk
Amos Puckett is a man of God; a Baptist missionary in Cuba in the late 1800s when Cuba was still a Spanish Colony. Although his father was a Baptist minister, Amos was not so inclined. However, through a series of life experiences, any one of which could have been fatal, he uses a natural gift and interest in herbal medicine to heal both bodies and souls. Through his defeats he learns about winning and losing; with his wins, he learns about faith and finds that God really is in control whether he believes it or not.
