Simoree McGuire feels like she has been a mother forever and has had to be strong forever. Becoming a mother to her son Samir at the age of thirteen meant sacrificing her childhood for his. Her dreams of dancing across the stages of Juilliard ended abruptly when her mother made her drop out of school to take care of her son. By the age of twenty-six, Simoree's life was at a standstill.
