In a race against time, Finn and his friends hunt for the ancient forge where the Eldur Crown must be remade. What they find is terrifying.

War is imminent. Finn must fulfill the quest Eldurrin gave him or Gamloden is doomed. He nearly despairs in the labyrinth of caves but discovers a tiny glimmer of hope in the darkness. He hurries to tell Rory, but finds her missing, captured by two vicious shadows that left death and destruction behind. Finn faces an agonizing decision.
