Myra King
Uneasy Castles is a collection of Myra King's poems and stories, some of which address subjects of contention, such as child incest, murder, and rape. There are also tales of unrequited love: two women, living in an era when homosexuality was not tolerated; a spurned reluctant farmer; the loneliness of a child given a boy's name because her parents yearned for a son.
Many other pieces are reflective or darkly humorous, but always there is redemption, retribution, forgiveness, and hope.
