The Reluctant Psychic

While some may be in awe of psychic ability, I acknowledge mine with a touch of whimsy. Sure, it sounds exciting and profoundly mystical but it can be daunting. Apparitions, and visions, and voices... oh my! Many people are aware at an early age of being able to predict future events, know of others they have never met and, yes, see the dead. Some embrace their abilities with exuberance and mindfulness and may have the good fortune to have a supportive environment to develop their skills. Others may choose to keep their psychic ability secret for fear of non-acceptance in our oft-unaccepting society. Then, there are those like me, with intuitive predispositions, and no burning desire to be this way.
