When an artifact, dubbed the Halo, is rediscovered, it sets off a series of events that takes Nick Farraday on a race against time.

NSA Special Agent "Ronnie" Vagnetti is hot on his trail as he tries to deliver the Halo to the SETI Institute, where he hopes the director, Jane Carter, can authenticate it.
