The Book of Romans in the Bible introduces the greatest benefits ever given to mankind. Who am I, Who is God, why was I born, where am I going? The future, life after death, eternal happiness, victory and fulfillment in life: these are the subjects of the Book of Romans. All the great questions of life are answered in its pages. It explains sin, forgiveness, redemption, justification, and sanctification. The Book of Romans is the greatest Book in the New Testament to give us an understanding of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. All of these great truths flow out of the GOSPEL; the fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins and rose physically from the dead three days later. Eternal life and all the benefits God reveals in the book of Romans come to us through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection.
The Book of Romans is clear and blunt when it speaks of the personal, spiritual, and interpersonal issues mankind faces. It hides nothing when describing the conflict in our relationship with God, our rejection of Him, and the resulting destructive results. It explains God's judgment and condemnation of mankind. His just nature demands punishment for our sin against Him. These issues are real and come upon us as a result of our failures and bad moral decisions.
However, God is also merciful and gracious. There is hope for a bright and happy future. In the Book of Romans, God provides solutions to all these problems. The basic problems are problems in the human heart, so, the solutions found in Romans are individual solutions that will affect society and the world. The truths given in the Book of Romans will solve the conflict between human beings and God. If implemented, they will solve the conflicts between individuals, thereby changing relationships, families, all of society, and nations. If the guidelines and commands from God found in Romans were applied, they would even solve the problems of terrorism and the Arab-Israel conflicts in the Middle East. Sin is the cause of our broken relationships with God and one another. In the Book of Romans, God gives us the truths that solve the sin problem and guidelines to apply these truths to our daily lives.
The Book of Romans is an enlightening book. Those who want to understand the basic conditions, problems, and solutions of life will find it to be invaluable.
