Chris Strub
In the summer of 2015, 29-year-old native New Yorker Chris Strub left Greenville, S. C. in an aging sedan with a GoPro, a selfie stick, an iPhone and a big idea: to volunteer with a different youth-related nonprofit organization in all 50 United States, in 100 days. '50 States, 100 Days: The Book' tells Chris's story of overcoming various obstacles and personal challenges to complete the quest, traveling clockwise around the country and ending with a 'Grand Finale' day in Asheville, N. C. Along the way, Chris makes new friends and introduces the reader to dozens of nonprofits of all sizes, from recognizable national organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA and Big Brothers Big Sisters, to smaller, independent organizations like Sunbeam Family Services, NCBI Missoula and the Magic Paintbrush Project. The updated version of '50 States, 100 Days: The Book' includes improved social media readability, with embedded short links and QR codes to the video interviews, earned media coverage and bonus live-stream footage from all of Chris's stops along the way; as well as a new Foreword by Kristy Gillentine Callaway and an extended epilogue detailing some of the impact 'The Book' has had on the social media space since its initial publication in Dec. 2015.
