Spiritual Leadership and Governance for the Development of the Negro-African Nations
Basona Bankoy-Bongo Lokondo
Continuation of Part 1We moved to tackle the problematic of governance. We have come to the conclusion good governance supported by spiritual leadership has to be exerted within the federalism as the beneficial form of the state in Congo, and we detailed our argument. We also made allusions to the government, and advocated the rejection of the Western type of democracy, and advised the development of the culture of knowledge. In the area of governance, we have shown the link between leadership and governance, tackled the issue of decision making, the need of objectives clearly set to produce results, the analysis of the environment through SWOT, the careful analysis of the macro-environment, the workforce, open government, network for citizen's interests, the management of the performance, Key National Indicators, the management of brains, trust, collaboration and cooperation. The final issue has been the spiritual leadership as a means of shaping the governance and development of Congo. In that part of the work, we have explained our meaning of the leadership and leader concepts. We also explained the reason why leaders in Africa always fail, and what qualities that the Congolese leaders should have. We are of the opinion that the spirituality has to become the metaphysical asset for the development of the nation and that the spiritual leaders would have to become the "God Sun" and the "Gurus" of the institutions. We did not fail to highlight the needed qualities: (1) intuition; (2) self-awareness; (3) mindfulness; (4) self-regulation and the ability to fight one's demons. All the above are the differential factors, or potentially important aspects of the work that make this work a singular vision presented by someone who has not been raised and educated properly, but, who is convinced to having very enlightening ideas to take Congo out of the spiral of underdevelopment.
