One of the first industrial designers, Christopher Dresser (1834–1904) was an important proponent of oriental art. Based on a visit to Japan in 1876–7, this beautifully illustrated book, first published in 1882, gives a designer's view of Japan and its decorative arts.

Contributor Bio:  Dresser, Christopher Christopher Dresser is considered by many to have been the most influential designer of the nineteenth century, and his designs later had a major influence on the Arts & Crafts and Modernist movements.
