The Adventures of Star Song

About the Book Star Song is an eight-year old bi-racial African and Native American, whose parents are imprisoned in a faraway land. Without family members to care for her, Star Song is left in an all- girls' orphanage. At school, Star Song runs into problems because of her beliefs and culture. Through all of Star Song's suffering, no one can seem to help her until she receives guidance from an ancestor Ashanti African chief and a Native American medicine woman. Star Song angels grant her the languages of Swahili and Lakota. They also give her the ability to know things that others don't know and the power to heal. With the benefit of her angels, Star Song triumphs over the problems she faces and is seen as a hero. The Adventures of Star Song "Who I AM?" is a wonderful story about courage and self-acceptance.
