This is a story of a poor young immigrant boy in a strange new country having to deal with being picked on and discriminated against, and how he dealt with it. It is a story of an extremely shy young man, afraid of the dark and of the water, and recognizing this as a handicap, his successful effort to overcome this. A story of his desire to better himself by becoming better educated - this being interrupted by World War II. His experiences as a flying instructor in the R. C. A. F., during which time he met the love of his life, Lillian Phillips, the start of a wonderful fifty-five year relationship. His post-war efforts at establishing himself and his move to Florida.
