Bennet Burleigh (c1840-1914) was a Scottish war correspondent of the London Daily Telegraph and the author of: Desert Warfare: Being the Chronicle of the Eastern Soudan Campaign (1884), Two Campaigns: Madagascar and Ashantee (1896), Sirdar and Khalifa (1898), Khartoum Campaign, 1898; or, The Re-Conquest of the Soudan (1899), The Natal Campaign (1900), Empire of the East; or, Japan and Russia at War, 1904-05 (1905) and An Address on Old-Age Pensions (1908).
