Reflections: of a Taunting Past

A local Pulaski County woman & life long resident, Vickie Spears Coomer is now a first time published author of her book: Reflections of a Taunting Past. Its an autobiography, her true life story & breathes with her very heart & soul as she shares her unedited colorful past just as she lived it, felt it and survived it. It required lots of courage, strength & patience as she stumbled through years of self-discovery, personal trials, abuse, heartbreak, betrayal & romantic missteps.
Now after 7 years of hard work & emotional efforts, she opens the doors into her unedited past to share this story. Reflections is definitely a good read and well worth your time. It will have you anxiously awaiting the next page to turn or the next character to step into the story. It will warm your heart and touch your soul with sadness as you read about a little girl lost on a relentless search for love & acceptance. Sometimes finding it, only to have it taken away, or finding herself being discarded. There's also humor, life threatening danger, death, sex, guns and yes, even high speed chases.
She lived this story, surviving to write about it in her own way & did it all herself. The complete book, the editing, and the front & rear cover designs. In no way does she claim to be perfect. It's the contents of the book & it's stories that's important to her. So as you read if you find a few flaws that's OK, it's kinda like her, not a perfect piece of work.
Her past in some ways has taken its toll, but she has also somehow partially emerged a wiser more cautious woman. Now a middle aged woman with a broken heart still beating she sometimes still finds it hard to feel comfortable in her own skin. She is a complicated mixture of powerful and vulnerable. Also learning to accept her own imperfections and admit that in many ways she is broken & emotionally damaged. Through it all she feels at least she did do something right, a true selfless act; she truly loved those few that were dear to her.
Things that are dear to her now are the Lord's gift of a beautiful day, her health, a safe secure home, the love of her husband, what few family & trusted friends she has, her dog Jumper and her hot rod car Lucille.
