Phil Brent is an ex-soldier who is part of a British nationalistic movement based in London. The group favours violence as a direct and immediate solution towards what they see as the growing problem and threat from foreign economic refugees. Following a string of racially motivated attacks the tide of fortune changes and Phil turns to the only thing he understands, seeking refuge as a contract soldier. While working for a specialist military firm he's contracted as part of a training team, in the "Democratic People's Republic of West Africa." But during his time in the African state he is caught up in the country's own troubles. As the power struggle swings back and forth from the republican leadership, Phil Brent is forced to question his choice of sides, along with his fundamental beliefs in what is to him, unacceptable.
