Cosimo Pascoli is an author living a semi-solitary life upon an island off the coast of Maine. He's been enjoying a modicum of success as a writer, as well as a life of near privacy among the small number of neighbors which he shares the island with. His routine becomes shattered, however, by the sudden arrival of his 14-year-old granddaughter Raven. Raven came to the island to escape the bickering that's arisen between her parents. She wants her grandfather's assistance in helping them to patch up their differences. But Raven has a much deeper and more devious plot in mind: a scheme involving her grandfather and the woman he divorced some seven years earlier.
