A controversial plan to sell off the industrialized world's official gold reserves leads to a mysterious murder of an economic analyst in a peaceful Swiss city. Mark Gray is asked to step in for his fallen colleague and is almost immediately attacked. On the run, Mark arrives in Rome where he is reunited with a former girlfriend, Nicole Lascalina. Together, Mark and Nicole set out to save Mark's life by solving the mystery. Their investigation takes them to London, Washington, and finally Montana, where they confront the killers in a struggle that takes them through Glacier National Park and into Canada.
