Have you ever been asked what you want to do with the rest of your life when you are only in high school? It's one thing to think about college, but it's something completely different to think about what job you would want to do until you are old enough to retire. Who has time for that when you are only seventeen and have more pressing issues like trying to figure out members of the opposite sex?
When he was a senior in high school, Jack was asked to write his autobiography. The purpose of the assignment was to examine his past to see how he came to be the person he is today. Once he discovered this, he would know what he wanted to do with his life. What he discovered was that he did not define his life; his life was defined by his relationship with Christine, the girl next door that he has always been in love with.
Life is the story of Jack and Christine as they are trying to go from being just friends to being more than friends while trying to not destroy the best friendship they have ever had.
