Everyone remembers the best "town crier" any town or city has ever had, and the Attleboro Historical Commission in conjunction with the Attleboro Historical Volunteers want to make sure that no one ever forgets Lawrence R. (Larry) Fitton. We have produced this small book as a tribute to "our Larry." It contains stories he used to tell about his childhood and life in the old days of Attleboro. Being one of the original members of the Attleboro Historical Commission, Larry always loved history and volunteered plenty of his time, knowledge, and memories. At all times being fair, honest, and a gentleman, he was the right-hand man to every commission chairman. For the details of his life in his own words, turn to "The Little Man That Was There." Larry Fitton was a prime example of giving back to your community. He preserved our history and he will forever be a part of our history.
