Farmer in the Tal

Michael lives the active, exploratory life of a high school boy raised in the idyllic environment of a Pennsylvania farming community in the twenty-first century. The family lives in a rich valley, which experiences powerful, fast moving summer storms. A tightly knit family, including his grandfather supports Michael's growth. Suddenly, disturbing influences completely engulf the daily activities of the farm. The landscape, animals, and family memebers fall prey to outside forces. A college professor is invited by the grandfather to explain the meaning of the small stones. The family bible hints at the historical significance of the time and events. Those considered friends and parents of friends are not who they appear to be. Michael's class mates die. The fence separating the farm from the Tal is breached to allow exploration of the structure and the dank shaft therein by Michael, his grandfather, and the professor. More violence surrounds Michael. In the midst of a particularly violent thunder storm on a special day, an end to the horrific events emanating from the Tal the must be sought by Michael and his father. They return to the point of evil.
