Nate felt as if he had let everyone down. He?d done some pretty stupid stuff in his day, but there was one particular mistake that had really taken the cake. This mistake had the man that he had once called his best friend, Jeb, no longer willing to talk to him? All because his little sister had suffered at the hands of someone who had made the same mistake. When the mistake got him discharged from the service because he was no longer capable of doing his job, he went back to his hometown with his tail between his legs, determined to make a change in the town as a way of finding a little redemption. Jeb?s parents were both killed by the maniac who had been running all over town killing livestock, as the town?s new Sheriff, Nate decided that he would solve this case come hell or high water. He owed it to Jeb, and his little sister who had once had a big crush on him. Now he had to face her knowing that she had suffered at the hands of someone who had made the same stupid mistakes he had; and he didn?t have the first clue what to say to the girl. After all, he hadn?t even seen her for several years. When Jen first came home to Bandera, Texas, Nate hadn?t known who she was, and was instantly attracted to her. The more time he spent with this incredible woman, the more in love he fell. Would they get their happy ending once he found out who she was? Would he ever find the redemption he so sorely felt he needed? If all of this wasn?t a big enough hurtle for the would be couple to face; the killer had an agenda that included tracking Jen down and making her pay the ultimate price.
