The Ages of Evolution is the new remastered and re-edited edition of the Story of Evolution written by Joseph McCabe in 1896 and published in 1912 by Watts & Co. Its release is in print as well as ebook in exemplary formats for today's pretentious reader. Highly recommended. Joseph Martin McCabe was born in Macclesfield, England on November 12, 1867 and lived until January 10, 1955. He grew up in Manchester. At the age of 15 he entered the Franciscan order. He apostatized from Christian faith leaving the Roman Catholic priesthood a self-decreed rationalist, atheist and materialist becoming a speaker of freethought, one of the most inexhaustible rationalist writers of the 20th century, his first pamphlet on his experiences appearing under the title From Rome to Rationalism, published in 1897, which has been lengthened into his first book volume Twelve years in a Monastery (1897.) Much of his works have been published by E. Haldeman-Julius, an American rationalist publisher who declared McCabe ?the world?s greatest scholar.?
