Persephone's Fire

Do you dream of, or seek to inspire someone to choose a career in mathematics, or in the sciences, or to become a teacher? This a story about a young girl who had a burning desire, from a very early age, to become a scientist. She was willing to leave her family and friends behind, to pursue her dreams. She traveled to a magical place in a faraway land, to learn from an exceptional teacher, who held many degrees, and who possessed exactly the knowledge that she wished to have. Along the way, she learns a foreign language, and also that humans are not the only intelligent life forms!
