This story is written as fiction but is based on facts. White women always wanted to know about the forbidden fruit even if it got them killed or banned from the white race. White men created a law that made it a crime for a black man to marry or have sex with a white woman, which meant death to the black man in the South. In some cases, it meant death to the white woman as well. These laws did not apply to themselves. Black women felt honored to serve white men whenever they wanted them. It made their lives much easier, even to this very day. Mrs. Cahill risked a lot to enjoy that feeling that came not from her husband. Mr. Cahill learned to trust his ole darky because he was damn good to have around to take care of his place but did not know that the darky was taking care of his wife as well. Blacks and whites-we are not that much different. We will risk our lives to get that feeling from that forbidden fruit.
