In REVELATIONS she asks direct questions to readers about a woman?s desire, her passions, sexless marriage, and adultery. Should a woman stick on to a love less marriage and show her happy face to the society? Should a woman make all the compromises all the time? Is every black object really ominous? Are sincere prayers always answered? Should a child be sentenced if he kills the person who raped his mother daily? Why can?t a widow fall in love again? Why must we all hate a prostitute? Why should powerful people be spared for playing with someone?s emotions? Why old people have to land up in old homes? Why a girl child is still a subject of shame in this twenty first century in many countries? Should abortion be prohibited? Do we all take recourse to lying and deception at some point in our lives? The poet talks about a woman?s desire, her sanctity, her values, her pleasures, her debauchery, her pains; she narrates a lover?s woe that is misread and misjudged, his agonies, his guilt, his trials, his misfortune, his old age. Her poems revolve round reality and fantasy - a mother being desolated by her only child, a renowned scientist suffering from Alzheimer, immoral teachers extracting favors from students, lovers in disguise, painters that failed and thrived, philosophers that beguiled and bemused, martyrs that sacrificed for a cause, prostitutes that sell their body but not their minds, a young widow that is stripped off of all her pleasures for nothing and how she takes the world on the rebound.
