Xi'an is an important capital for Chinese Buddhism. Most Chinese Buddhism Sec originated from Xi'an during Han and Tang Dynasty. Many Chinese Buddhism masters were related to Xi'an. This is the first official full seven-day Chan meditation hosted by Master Q at a Pure-land temple in China. All of the participants were from Pure-land Sec and had no prior experiences of meditation or Chan. The participants were excited to combine the Pure-land and Chan methods together to meditate. Master Q used the Huatou "Who is chanting the Buddha?" from Master Xuyun to help them have new breakthrough and understandings.
