Patty, a wheel-chair bound information analyst working at the Unversity of Rochester's Cancer Center has a terrifying encounter with a feral teenager at a local convenience store. While examining his body she discovers the child was the subject of illegal research, but the local police has their hands full and she turns to Jason, a sociopath she had escaped from years before to investigate further. He introduces her to Tonaya, a prodigy black hacker girl and the three of them discover how a doctor is messing with the software of the human brain.
