The Widow Makers
Buck Edwards
Crazed prison escapee Erastus Kammers has kidnapped five young women from a Utah ranch and with the help of his ragtag gang of cutthroats, they are headed to the mountains to build a fantastical utopia. Set on their trail is Marshal Boone Crowe, who is reluctantly saddled with an inexperienced posse of young farm boys. But former deputy Joe Wood is also on the trail of the outlaws, for secret reasons of his own. Haunted by past misdeeds, Joe Wood teams up with Phony Landers, a ne’er-do-well schoolteacher who has his own crimes to outrun. The Wyoming high country becomes a landscape of cat and mouse as the outlaws and their captives head for an abandoned mining town in the mountains. But the young women know that in order to survive they must hang on until knight-errant Boone Crowe can track the killers to their lair. What Crowe finds at the end of the trail is something he never bargained for.
