Next Stop Harlem

The year is 1929 and Jazz has enticed the heart of the nation. Prohibition, gangsters and speakeasies explode across the country; giving birth to the Jazz Star Era. The great migration is in full swing and thousands of African Americans have abandoned the south with a thirst for big city living. Nineteen year old, Virginia born; Penny Nichols dreams of escaping her small town so that she can sing in one of Harlem's Jazz clubs. As she plans to leave town for good, Penny finds herself the victim of a brutal attack. With the Klan hot on her trail she flees for her life. Fearful but unwavering Penny is determined to make her Next Stop; Harlem.
