Blinking back the fragmented haze of daylight through the grimy paint chipped bars of his cell the dull echoes of footsteps against the cold stone floor and blood curdling screams of patients now silenced. James' calls for help are met with a void of nothingness. Rescued by a lone survivor, James and fellow patient Gina head off in search of safety humbled by the devastation of the world beyond the walls of the asylum. As they embark on their journey for survival the bond between them grows as Gina sparks an unprecedented feeling of compassion in James (a cold-blooded serial killer). Z Day sees the apocalypse unfold through the eyes of serial killer, murder comes naturally to James but faced with a blank canvas, a fresh start will his killer instincts prevail or will he become a hero among monsters?
