The small town of Pleasanton normally sleeps under the haze of "what was long ago". It's happy in this condition but undercurrents begin to ruffle its placid surface. Police are puzzled, ministers are filled with unease and the populace begins to awaken to the fact that people aren't always what they seem to be. Into this confusion, a foreign priest is introduced into the mix. Who is he? Why is he here? Why is he affecting the lives of so many people when he isn't even known to them. Conjectures run wild and ugly rumors run rampant. But those who come in contact with the priest are better for it.
