Kai's people came to this city to escape a civil war that threatened to tear them apart. They sought peace and refuge amongst a society that was dealing with their own devastation. Led by Kai's father and General Tevas, they found that peace. But with a new native regime came the bombs and with the bombs came death. Kai's parents counted among them. Scattered by the attack, the survivors of the four Light tribes turned against one another, protecting their own ways and their own people. That was ten years ago. Now living in the burnt out remnants of both the city and themselves, the tribes face a new threat: the natives are taking their children. When his sister becomes the latest taken, Kai, trained as a soldier by his adopted father Tevas, must help lead a team of unified Light to save them all. Testing fragile alliances and rebuilding burned bridges, Kai and his team must honor their shared cultural histories if they hope to have any future at all.
