I won't stand in your way. You hold in your hands a rich and diverse anthology of Jacksonville writing-multiple forms of poetry, detective stories, cosplay storytelling, psychogeographic essays, drama, readers' theater excerpts, and vampire satire. You hold in your hands, in celebration of JaxbyJax 2016, or JaxbyJax III, an anthology of work from the featured writers of JaxbyJax 2015. JaxbyJax is not a writers' festival exactly. Not a literature or literary festival. It's a "literary arts" festival that takes its name from the focus of "Jacksonville Writers Writing Jacksonville." Our goal is to let this city hear its own literary voice. For what would Dublin be without James Joyce, what would London be without Shakespeare and Dickens and Woolf, what would the American South be without Flannery O'Connor, Zora Neale Hurston, and William Faulkner? JaxbyJax asks that question of Jacksonville, Florida. The writers who follow have stepped forward.
