From Lahore to Washington, DC

Memories, like our karma, have a way of catching up with us. Memories apparently caught up with Pushpa when her granddaughters began to ask questions about her childhood and life. Dr. Pushpa Sran is an empathetic and very generous human being. She has vividly described her personal experience in growing up on this planet. Her memory recall is exemplary, as is her first person description of the tumultuous - and, at times, life-threatening - circumstances during the migration from Pakistan during the Partition of the subcontinent. Though she has a multitude of friends, Pushpa describes expertly negotiating, on her own, sudden turns during the sojourn of her career while helping everyone around her. She is a wonderful wife to her loving husband, Ranjit Sran, a great mom to her son, Deep Sran, and his wife, Anjili, and a doting grandmother to her two lovely grand daughters, Shailee and Ella. This story fully engages the reader and makes it hard to put down until finished. Pushpa is universally liked by everyone she is in contact with and cherished by family, friends, and colleagues alike. Pushpa's journey from a displaced childhood to becoming a renowned physician is truly a shining example of what the human experience should be... full of love, friendships, family, and accomplishment, even in difficult times.
