It's been nearly nineteen years since the War of the Shadow Lords and the Thousand Years of Darkness has only begun. Khellaran Senturick is presumed dead, and the Northern Kingdoms of Kohr are ruled by the power dragon monarchs called the Undying. Tarra Gwineren, known as the Sorceress Queen of Annis, reigns over the mountain city under the watchful eye of Zantharnakan Bonewing - but peace doesn't last for long. A new enemy arises in the far Eastern Kingdoms: The Crimson Fist. Their ultimate goal - to destroy all remaining Blade Masters. Khellaran and Kryssanna have retreated to a small village far to the south to raise Tarra's children, Baradin and LeAren. The twins are just coming upon their eighteenth year, and know nothing of their true heritage as offspring of the Dragon King. Tragedy strikes when the Crimson Fist locates the former Generals' home, and the family is divided. As the children of a True Blood, Baradin and LeAren must each find a way to control the unyielding force that drives their movements, or be consumed by this new corrupted form of the One Power.
