The Fire

Annie on the Prairie is a heartwarming new Christian series by author Poppy Gunn. The daughter of Swedish immigrants, fifteen-year-old Annie Larsson must adjust to life on the prairie, the family living in a one-room log cabin. Tea is Annie's younger sister, while Johannes is only ten, and quite precocious. After two siblings go missing in The Fire, having run away from their abusive father, Sheriff Martin Douglas finds himself in the middle of a domestic dispute. Annie suspects he is sweet on her younger sister, Tea, the girl blushing every time he comes near. Once the children are found, Sheriff Douglas is forced to make a decision regarding their welfare. This initiates a tragic chain of events. Yet, from the ashes of a catastrophic fire, the community bonds, farmer helping farmer in their time of need.
