Twilight of Reason
J D Stewart
Where has explanation gone? The what is evermore and the why or how is never required. Our lives are driven by factoids and not by explanation. We have lost the ability to reason. The ability to string and weave ideas into a tapestry of reasoned thought is being taken from our arsinal of mental powers. We can overlook the importance of truth because we have mounted a campaign of feelings that displaces reason and rationality. The origin of feelings' impactful hold on the modern mind is to be found in the individual forcing its way into the business of meaning through autonomous authority. Influencing politics, education, business, family, in fact most thoughtful areas of modern life, reasoned meaning and rational thought is being summerily dismissed without being seen as a viable option.
