Mint Leaves

Mint Leaves is a poetry collection separated into three sections: the memory of childhood, the experience of love, and the thought of death. The sweet reminiscing of childhood in Eastern Europe, the painful experiences in love in Toronto, and the realization of mortality, supplemented with anecdotes and specific symbolic explanations by the author, define the collection as uniquely philosophical and engaging. The collection integrates the reader's interpretation of the poetry with the writer's intentional creation of meaning. Each poem has an accompanying page dedicated to supplementary information included to increase reader understanding of the creative process. Under "Just One Take," the author introduces new ideas, fixates on relevant pieces of information about the poem, and pursues philosophical questions that advance the reader's understanding of the poetry.
