The Complaint in this matter alleges that Donald J. Trump violated the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended, (the "Act") while "testing the waters" for the 2012 presidential election. According to the Complaint, Trump accepted excessive or impermissible contributions from The Trump Organization, LLC (Trump LLC), in connection with a website www. ShouldTrumpRun.com("ShouldTrumpRun"), created by Trump LLC employee Michael Cohen, and from Stewart Rahr, who paid for a flight Cohen took on Trump's privately owned jet. The Complaint also alleges that ShouldTrumpRun is a political committee that has failed to register with the Commission.
