To each and every individual who has been sexually abused as child this is written for you. I recognize your anguish, darkness, and despair. You have been harmed, exploited, and humiliated. Child sexual abuse is the most aggressive, obscene, and savage assault a child can endure. It has dominated you like a malignant tumor but you do not have to carry this burden alone. You are not a hidden statistic of the millions of child survivors. You are a valuable individual worthy of love and respect. You are not a mistake and you never deserved this. You could never be responsible for this heinous crime. I affirm your broken spirit and shattered life. I know firsthand how child sexual abuse can cripple and devastate you. I am sorry for your pain and loss of innocence. It is heartbreaking that you may never receive the apology that you truly deserve. To all survivors of child sexual abuse, you are not alone! You are courageous. The circumstances of your life do not define you - they surrounded and oppressed you. You can rise above and overcome the ravages of this vicious trauma. You can heal beyond this personal tragedy. I do not know you personally; however, we are woven together by an unheard voice and traumatic internal tapestry.
