The Secret Sharer

The Secret Sharer, is probably the most popular - and most critically acclaimed - of Conrad's bona fide short stories (if we count Heart of Darkness as a short novel rather than a short story), and much of Conrad's fiction blurs the boundaries between short stories, novellas, and novels, so we feel it earns its place in this list of the best Joseph Conrad novels despite its (literal) shortcomings.
