From Nobody to Somebody by the Grace of God: Autobiography of Pastor Jeressy A. (Jesse) Chevalier, PhD

Psalm 113:7-8 says, "He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap, That He may seat him with princes-With the princes of His people." I am a perfect example of someone that God has raised from the dust. I used to be a "Nobody"; however, by His grace, I have been taken from nothing and have been transitioned into something. My life is in parallel with that of David. David was a shepherd who used to tend his father's flock. He never thought he would have been anything more than that. But, God raised him out of the field and put him king. You (the reader) might not experience exactly what David experience; but God can raise you from nothing and turn you into something. Furthermore, Joseph who had lost his mother at an early age, was sold into slavery. But God raised him and made him second ruler of Egypt. Moses was also a Shepherd who tended flocks for his father-in-law. He never thought he would have been chosen to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. But God chose Him. There are so many examples in the Bible of people that the Lord has raised from the dust. If He could do it for them, you better believe that He can do it for you. He has taken me from the very bottom and has put me where I would have never imagined. I do not know how; nor do I know why. But all I know is that Jesus did it for me!
